As legislators turn their focus towards activities that distract drivers – such as talking on handheld phones - from what they should be doing behind the wheel, over 24 percent reported they're still not using a hands-free device, which is the law in many countries and states. To make matters worse our recent driver survey conducted within North America, Europe and Asia, show that people are engaging in a number of additional distracting and dangerous behaviors when on the move.
Survey findings among respondents include:
- 72% regularly eat while driving
- 28% text while driving
- Nearly 25 % style their hair or change clothes while driving and 13% apply makeup
- 15% have performed sex or other sexual acts while driving
- 10% read newspapers or magazines while driving
